Patrick Buerger is a Research Fellow at Macquarie University and the University of Melbourne
working on engineering resilience into algal symbionts of corals.

Patrick leads the Marine Omics and Technology Lab at Applied BioSciences.
Previously, he worked as a post-doctral fellow at CSIRO's Synthetic Biology Future Science Platform and
finished his PhD in 2017 on marine viruses and coral diseases at the Australian Institute of Marine Science.
